Job Title: Dental Hygienist Assistant
Location: Detroit, MI 48213
Duration: 3+ Months (with possible extension)
Pay Rate: $23/hr. on W2
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Hygienist Assistant to join our care team. In this role, you will support the dental hygiene staff and ensure smooth operations within the practice. This position is ideal for someone passionate about preventive oral healthcare, patient comfort, and working in a supportive environment that offers opportunities for growth.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare and set up treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and sterilization.
Assist Dental Hygienists during patient treatment procedures.
Update patient health history and chart treatment progress.
Expose and develop radiographs (if certified).
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
Manage inventory and sterilization of dental instruments.
Support hygienists with scheduling, treatment recommendations, and recall systems.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and industry regulations.
Previous dental assisting experience required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a focus on patient care and comfort.
N/A
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate’s Degree or Dental Assisting certification preferred but not required.
Six (6) hour X-ray training certification (required).
BLS certification (required).
