Maintenance Technician I
Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician I plays a crucial role in assisting with and executing maintenance tasks on both equipment and facilities. This position requires possessing the knowledge necessary to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, as well as demonstrate proficiency in at least three (3) of the Mechanical Doctrines, which include Mechanical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Metalworking, Electrical, and Pneumatics. 

Major Job Functions:

This description is general in nature – the duties listed include – but are not inclusive of:

• Responsible for preventive maintenance assignments to keep the equipment maintained properly.
• Performs mechanical skills including Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting of packaging and production equipment.
• Self-starter and can work with little supervision.
• Diagnose problems, replace and/or repair parts, and make adjustments.
• Computer skills are needed to navigate and enter data from work orders.
• Comply with all safety rules and keep work area clean and orderly.
• Ability to read schematics and operate manuals to repair and maintain equipment.
• Perform general facility maintenance as required. This could include carpentry, concrete, electrical, or plumbing skills.
• Maintain a high level of accountability and integrity throughout the department.
• Be well-versed in the use of hand and power tools, along with the safety protocols associated with their operation.

Required Skills/Abilities/Education:

• Ability to perform repetitively, lifting and lifting up-to 50 pounds.
• Ensure the maintenance of thorough and accurate written records.
• Required to have an Industrial Maintenance Certification or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or in an industrial maintenance role.
• Successful completion of a forklift driving training program or the ability to demonstrate safe forklift operation during an on-site evaluation.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is essential. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Capability to handle multiple tasks in demanding situations while effectively fulfilling primary responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hour of Work:

• The role is a full-time hourly position that may transition from temporary to permanent. 
• Maintenance personnel are typically scheduled to work six days a week. 
• The specific hours will be established based on business needs. 
• Flexibility is essential for this role. Occasionally, overtime may be necessary depending on the demands of the job.

Work Environment:

• This position functions within a dynamic manufacturing setting. While carrying out the responsibilities associated with this role, the employee is situated close to moving mechanical components and in potentially hazardous locations and is subject to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the workplace is moderate.
