Responsibilities:

The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach reports directly to the Head Women's Basketball Coach and is responsible for assisting in the planning, directing, and evaluating all aspects and facets of a successful Women's Basketball program on the NCAA Division I level. Uses complete range of professional athletics concepts and strategies for developing and maintaining all aspects of sports programs. Assumes full management of specific aspects of the sports program. Assists with recruitment, practice and administrative duties.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Strong interpersonal, motivational and team leadership skills to work effectively with athletic participants.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity, sound judgment and decision-making;, be an effective problem solver and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Specialized knowledge of the team sport or activity and demonstrated technical expertise in coaching principles.
  • Leadership skills to mentor and develop athletes.
  • Current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and, at all times avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • May need to maintain NCAA certified recruiter status.
  • May need to maintain CPR / AED and First Aid certification.
  • 1-3 years experience coaching basketball
  • 1-3 years experience playing Division 1 basketball

  • must work nights, weekends and holidays when needed

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $56,000.00- $58,000.00 ().
