Job Description

Position Summary

The Inventory Specialist will support the Inventory Manager with managing the inventory control operations for the Fives Intralogistics Corp plant and storage locations. The objective is to achieve efficient and accurate material common stock and project stock inventories, timely material movements between storage locations and projects, and reduced operational costs attributed to inventory loss. This position is responsible for conducting accurate counting of inventory, investigate, and resolve shortages or overages, Goods Movements affecting inventory, and reconcile discrepancies. This role provides a crucial link between Logistics, Assembly, and Supply Chain.

The Inventory Specialist will be part of Supply Chain Team for Fives Intralogistics Corp. and will report to the Inventory Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review and apply inventory activities, including movements and deletions.
  • Maintain and update inventory records.
  • Perform Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly Cycle Counts.
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Report any stock issues to management and give recommendations for product orders as necessary.
  • Maintain high inventory accuracy for all storage locations through the use of analytical and reconciliation techniques, including audits.
  • Support all material related adjustments performed in SAP and provide supporting documentation for financial review as required.
  • Configure storage locations within the production facility and storage warehouse to incorporate the use of detailed bin positions.
  • Effectively manage surplus and obsolete inventories, while providing support for the phase in-phase out process of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Complete additional special projects and assignments as requested by direct supervisory personnel.
  • Reinforce Fives Intralogistics Corp. Core Values and Drive process improvement activities.

  • Two (2) plus years’ experience in a production environment or related experience in warehouse / inventory / planning role.
  • Two (2) plus years’ experience with major MRP software such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or Information Systems is preferred.
  • Experience with MS Office (specifically Excel)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as engineering drawings and material data sheets.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Strong people skills; team player.
