  • This job is a member of the Strategic Planning and Analysis team within the Revenue Management Division, which is responsible for leading a team that support the commercial planning for the AAdvantage, Cobrand and Airline Partnerships organizations.

What you'll do

  • Provide strategic leadership, collaborative coordination, and creative problem solving to mentor and manage a successful team while ensuring continuous training and providing development opportunities for analysts with intellectual curiosity and a passion for the business
  • Leads a team of analysts responsible for production and analysis of multiple enterprise forecasts, including annual budgets, quarterly five-year-plan high-level forecasts
  • Drives forward top priority commercial initiatives that span across the company and our partner airlines, bringing alignment around commercial strategies, maintaining clear communication across teams, and ensuring cross-functional actions are completed
  • Forecasting and budgeting cobrand partnership cashflows
  • Analyzing cobrand performance and partnering with the AAdvantage organization to size initiatives
  • Supporting the development of new partners
  • Negotiating new concepts, initiatives or unresolved matters
  • Ad hoc analysis of other aspects of Commercial Partnerships
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts with internal and external counsel
  • Maintaining a working relationship with AA’s Joint Business and Partners: British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Finnair, Japan Airlines, Qantas Airways, Alaska Airlines, Qatar
  • Calculating transfer payments and related settlements between the Joint Business and other partners
  • Presenting and explaining financial settlements and complex Alliance Share Agreement concepts to internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organizations
  • Regular interaction with many other AA departments, including: Network Planning, AAdvantage, Revenue Management, Accounting, Legal, Sales and Finance
  • Ensures continuous training and provides development opportunities for the analyst pool

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with significant coursework or experience in a quantitative discipline (economics, mathematics, engineering, finance, operations research, etc.) 
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Master’s degree in business-related discipline
• Experience directly or indirectly leading teams with significant enterprise and/or top line revenue responsibility
• Demonstrated ability to solve and lead others in solving complex analytical problems
• Experience leading cross-functional, inter-departmental projects
• Prior experience in Revenue Management, Finance, Network Planning or Sales Planning preferred

• Proven ability to synthesize complex technical information across large data sets and communicate clearly and persuasively with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to manage a team and support critical business decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

• Ability to solve and to lead others in solving complex analytical problems
• Demonstrated ability to take a project from conceptualization through implementation
