Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Purpose of Position

Act as the main point of contact to represent Corning and Optical Communications leadership to the site. Responsible of Warehouse Operations, Planning and Procurement as well as the compliance in terms of environmental and facilities. Coordinate with site business leaders and functional managers to resolve issues, deploy programs and initiatives, and enhance the culture of the site.

Day to Day Responsibilities

•    Develop a warehouse operations strategy, including end to end processes (storage, picking, replenish, cycle counting, dock management, loading and shipping) to meet customer requirements on time. Oversight process efficiency for order management and inventory accuracy; ensure collaboration of Planning and Transportation departments in terms of resources efficiency and workflow
•    Ensure strategy in place to plan, organize, and control Supply Chain operations within Planning and Procurement to optimize cost and customer service & work in conjunction with regional and global supply chain teams, commercial, and warehouse operations to execute with a high level of service and cost performance.
•    Sponsor and Advocate for EH&S programs, education, and compliance to Corning and governmental regulations;ensure programs and responsibilities are in place for solving employee crisis situations (inclusive of severe weather drills, fire drills, etc.).   Provide appropriate communications to leadership, GSOC, etc. Accountable for creating and maintaining a business continuity/disaster preparedness plan for the site. Responsible for working with Corporate Security to create and implement security strategy for the site.
•    Oversees the maintenance and repairs of building systems (e.g. HVAC, Security, Electrical, Water, Waste) and process services (e.g. compressed air, filtration systems, etc), as well as  fostering relationship and contracts with facility service providers (e.g. IFM providers, waste/recycling providers, janitorial providers, cafeteria services, etc.) 

Required Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field of discipline required
•    Masters preferred
•    Fluent English spoken and written
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with all levels of a global organization.
•    Progressive responsibilities in manufacturing and engineering roles in plants and divisions including Plant Manager experience or expatriate assignment 
•    Manufacturing and/or engineering experiences throughout the product life cycle (growth and/or decline, new product introductions, turnaround situation, etc.)

This position supports immigration sponsorship. 

The range for this position is $184,563.00 - $253,775.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
