Summary

The Transportation Systems & Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing Simplot Retail’s Transportation Management System (TMS) and ensuring the efficient movement of packaged goods across the distribution network. This role serves as the primary liaison between field locations and the TMS vendor, manages third-party hauler and applicator agreements, and drives performance reporting and compliance. The manager plays a key role in supporting order fulfillment and ensuring carrier performance aligns with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the management and optimization of the Transportation Management System (TMS), including user setup, training, and data accuracy.
• Provide annual training to Ag Retail users and maintain documentation aligned with best practices.
• Monitor freight costs, shipment delays, and carrier performance using Power BI and other analytics tools.
• Support packaged goods logistics, including transfers and inbound product movements.
• Act as a logistics advisor to field locations and provide backup support when needed.
• Manage third-party hauler and applicator agreements, including onboarding, compliance monitoring, and quarterly reporting to division leadership.
• Ensure timely updates to Bills of Lading and address freight claims within the TMS.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support order fulfillment and logistics process improvements.

Typical Education

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Relevant Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, transportation systems, or supply chain operations.
• Proficiency in TMS platforms and data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI).
• Experience managing third-party vendors and ensuring compliance with corporate standards.
